Starline 6.5 Creedmoor Brass Cases – 100 Units

Starline Precision Ammunition Components is dedicated to maintaining the tightest production tolerances possible on every metallic case they manufacture. Each 6.5 Creedmoor case is engineered with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring consistent dimensions that meet or exceed industry standards for precision reloading and ballistic performance.

All brass cases are produced strictly within SAAMI (Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute) specifications, guaranteeing compatibility and safety across a wide range of firearms chambered for the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge. Additionally, these cases undergo specialized heat treatment processes designed to enhance metallurgical strength and durability, thereby extending case life through multiple reloading cycles.

These are new, unfired, and unprimed brass casings, crafted from high-quality virgin brass to provide optimal malleability and resilience. Prior to loading, it is essential to trim the cases to the recommended length and chamfer the case mouth to ensure smooth bullet seating and prevent damage to the projectile’s jacket during seating.

Due to manufacturing tolerances and potential handling during shipping, the case mouths may not always be perfectly concentric or round. To achieve optimal bullet alignment and chambering reliability, it is recommended to size the case necks using an appropriate expanding die. This step will re-round and slightly flare the case mouth, facilitating easier bullet insertion and consistent seating depth.

Furthermore, deburring the case mouth and removing any residual flash or burrs is critical to prevent bullet deformation and ensure uniform pressure distribution upon firing.

It is common to observe discoloration or spotting on the neck and body of new brass cases. This phenomenon results from the annealing process—a controlled thermal treatment applied by the manufacturer. Annealing involves rapidly heating the brass to a precise temperature followed by rapid cooling, which optimizes the hardness and ductility of the case neck and shoulder areas.

This heat treatment process is vital for maintaining the structural integrity of the case during expansion and contraction cycles when the cartridge is fired and resized repeatedly. The visible discoloration is merely a residual effect of annealing and does not impact the performance or safety of the brass cases.
