6 Cavity Mold TL452-200-SWC for Bullet Casting (Tongs Not Included)

90379

LEE Cast Bullet Mold featuring 6 precision-machined cavities designed for the .45 ACP, .45 Auto Rim, and .45 Colt (Long Colt) calibers, ideal for high-volume bullet casting and metallic reloading applications.

Each cavity produces a bullet with a diameter of .452 inches, yielding a 200-grain Semi-Wadcutter (SWC) projectile optimized for consistent ballistic performance and reliable terminal ballistics.

Compatible with popular handgun cartridges including .45 ACP, .45 Auto Rim, and .45 Colt (Long Colt), this mold is engineered to meet the demanding specifications of competitive shooters, reloaders, and ballistic enthusiasts.

Featuring a ballistic coefficient (BC) of approximately 0.127, these cast bullets offer a balanced trajectory suitable for target shooting, self-defense, and cowboy action shooting disciplines.

Constructed from high-grade aluminum alloy blocks reinforced with corrosion-resistant steel bushings, the mold incorporates precision alignment pins to ensure perfect cavity registration and minimize flash during casting.

The aluminum construction provides superior thermal conductivity compared to traditional iron molds, allowing for rapid heating and cooling cycles. This results in faster attainment of optimal casting temperatures, increasing throughput and efficiency during extended casting sessions.

Additionally, the lightweight nature of aluminum—approximately one-third the weight of iron molds—significantly reduces operator fatigue, enhancing comfort and control during prolonged bullet production runs.

The dual aluminum blocks are securely clamped using specialized mold handles (not included), preventing any lateral or vertical movement when pouring molten lead or lead alloys, thereby ensuring uniform bullet formation and dimensional consistency.

Equipped with an anodized, extra-hard sprue plate and cutter, this mold facilitates precise trimming of the sprue, delivering clean, uniform bullets with minimal post-casting finishing required.

Note that the final bullet weight may vary slightly depending on the specific lead alloy or semi-metallic composition used during casting, allowing reloaders to tailor projectile characteristics to their specific load data and performance requirements.

Mold handles for opening and closing the mold are sold separately under reference number 90005 and are highly recommended for safe and efficient operation.

Prior to initial use, it is strongly advised to thoroughly degrease the mold to remove any manufacturing residues. Additionally, seasoning the mold by applying a light coat of mold release agent or smoke treatment enhances bullet release and prolongs mold life.

Under no circumstances should the interior cavities be lubricated with oil or grease, as this can adversely affect bullet surface quality and safety during casting.

Light lubrication of the sprue plate retaining screw is recommended to maintain smooth operation and prevent seizing over time.
