Mold 356-125-2R for Precision Bullet Casting and Reloading

90309

LEE 2-Cavity Bullet Mold designed specifically for 9mm caliber projectiles, ideal for precision handloaders and ballistic enthusiasts seeking superior consistency and performance in their reloads.

This mold casts .356 inch diameter bullets weighing approximately 125 grains with a 2-Ring (2R) design, perfectly suited for popular cartridges such as 9mm Luger, .38 Super, and .380 ACP. The bullet profile ensures optimal chambering and feeding reliability in semi-automatic pistols chambered for these calibers.

Featuring a ballistic coefficient (BC) of .166, these bullets provide a balanced combination of velocity retention and terminal performance, making them suitable for both target shooting and defensive applications.

LEE’s 2-cavity molds are constructed from high-grade aluminum blocks, offering excellent corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity. Aluminum molds heat and cool significantly faster than traditional iron or steel molds, enabling quicker casting cycles and improved production efficiency during bullet casting sessions.

The lightweight nature of aluminum—approximately one-third the weight of iron or steel molds—reduces operator fatigue during extended casting periods, enhancing comfort and control for the reloader.

The mold halves are securely clamped together using robust wooden-handled tongs, ensuring zero movement or misalignment during the molten metal pour. This precise fit guarantees uniform bullet dimensions and consistent weight distribution across all cast projectiles.

Note that the indicated bullet weights may vary slightly depending on the specific lead alloy or semi-metallic alloy composition used during casting, as alloy density directly influences final projectile mass.

The included tongs feature ergonomic wooden grips for safe and comfortable handling, minimizing heat transfer and improving grip stability.

An integrated sprue cutter blade is incorporated into the mold design, facilitating clean and efficient removal of excess molten lead from the bullet base, resulting in smooth, finished projectiles ready for sizing and lubing.

For optimal mold longevity and bullet quality, it is highly recommended to thoroughly degrease the mold prior to initial use. Additionally, seasoning the mold by applying smoke from a candle or using specialized mold treatment products helps prevent lead adhesion and promotes consistent bullet release.

Never lubricate the interior cavity of the mold, as this can degrade bullet surface finish and cause dimensional inconsistencies.

Lightly lubricate the sprue cutter screw to ensure smooth operation and prevent seizing during repeated casting cycles.
