Remington Brass Cases Caliber .22 Hornet – Bulk Pack of 100

Remington brass cases for the .22 Hornet caliber are precision-engineered from a proprietary brass alloy, meticulously formulated to deliver consistent internal volume and optimal mechanical properties. This specialized metallurgy ensures superior tensile strength and resistance to work hardening, minimizing case brittleness and extending the usable life of each case during multiple reload cycles.

The neck area of each case undergoes a controlled annealing process, which softens the brass to facilitate easier neck expansion and contraction. This thermal treatment significantly enhances the durability of the neck, reducing the risk of cracking or splitting during bullet seating and firing, thereby maximizing reload longevity and performance reliability.

Remington maintains stringent manufacturing tolerances, adhering closely to SAAMI (Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute) specifications to ensure dimensional uniformity across every batch. This precision manufacturing process includes advanced heat treatment protocols and optimized case design to improve structural integrity and resistance to deformation under high chamber pressures.

These cases are made from new, unfired brass with no primer pockets pre-primed, offering reloaders a clean and consistent starting point for custom load development. Prior to loading, it is recommended to trim and chamfer the case mouths to ensure proper bullet seating and prevent damage to the projectile or seating dies.

Due to the nature of manufacturing and transport, case mouths may occasionally exhibit slight deviations from perfect roundness. To guarantee optimal bullet alignment and seating, it is advised to size the cases using an appropriate expander die. This step will re-round the case mouth and slightly flare it, facilitating smooth bullet insertion and consistent seating depth. Additionally, any burrs or sharp edges should be carefully removed before loading to prevent bullet damage and ensure reliable chambering.

Important Notes:

New brass cases may display discoloration or spotting on the neck and body surfaces. This is a normal artifact resulting from the annealing process, which involves rapidly heating the brass to a precise temperature followed by immediate cooling. This heat treatment imparts the necessary hardness and elasticity to the brass, enabling it to securely hold the projectile while accommodating the expansion and contraction cycles experienced during firing and resizing.

The visible stains are harmless residues from this thermal process and do not affect the structural integrity or performance of the cases. Reloaders can expect consistent, high-quality cases optimized for precision handloading and long-term reuse in .22 Hornet caliber firearms.
