Prvi 7x57 173-SP (box 20)

Prvi Partizan Cartridges Cal. 7 x 57 – 173-SP (Box of 20)

The Prvi Partizan 7 x 57 cartridges with 173-SP soft point bullets are supplied in commercial boxes of 20 rounds, manufactured by PRVI Partizan PPU. They are intended to provide reliable performance in hunting and practical shooting scenarios where controlled expansion and retained terminal energy are desired.

Main features and specifications

This cartridge is identified as 7 x 57 - 173-SP, indicating a soft point (SP) bullet with a nominal weight of 173 grains. PRVI Partizan production emphasizes consistent case quality and charge uniformity, contributing to reproducible accuracy and reliable cycling in compatible rifles.

Experience from users and shooters often highlights good feeding in bolt-action rifles and acceptable fouling behavior after multiple shots. For hunting, the weight and SP profile favor penetration followed by expansion, useful for medium to large game.

Below are the product specifications available from the item description. Only provided data are included; no unconfirmed values are estimated.

• Bullet Type: SP
• Bullet Weight (g):
• BulletWeight (gr): 173
• Barrel Length (mm):
• Velocity:
• Packaging: 1 Box – 20 Units

The lack of velocity and barrel length figures in the product sheet means users should consult their rifle's ballistic tables or the manufacturer before performing range or energy calculations. Experience shows these variables are decisive for ballistic outcomes and should be verified under real shooting conditions.

Recommended use and compatibility

The 7 x 57 - 173-SP cartridges are suitable for medium and large game hunting where a balance of energy and controlled expansion is desired. They are recommended for bolt-action and compatible semi-automatic rifles that accept the 7 x 57 cartridge dimensions and pressure levels.

User experience indicates that the 173-grain SP combination performs well at medium ranges, improving effectiveness when aiming at vital zones and adjusting optics appropriately. Mechanical compatibility (feeding and locking) must be checked in the rifle manual.

Practical usage tips:

• Verify chamber fit and cartridge length in the rifle before field use.
• Perform grouping tests at known distances to zero optics accurately.
• Avoid mixing different production lots or aged ammunition during outings.

Experience from field trials commonly recommends starting at short distances and progressively increasing range to assess real expansion and trajectory in the specific firearm.

Storage, transport and safety

Proper storage extends service life and preserves safety. Keep boxes in a dry, cool place away from heat and humidity. Label lots and purchase dates to facilitate rotation and inventory control.

During transport, use secure cases that prevent impacts and keep ammunition separate from heavy items. Operational experience suggests that protecting the case and bullet nose preserves accuracy.

Safety rules to follow:

• Transport ammunition unloaded and separated from the firearm when feasible.
• Do not expose to open flames or extreme temperatures.
• Comply with local laws for possession and transport of ammunition.

Armorer and range experience emphasizes visually inspecting each cartridge before use; discard any with deformation or visible corrosion.

Conclusion and final recommendations

The Prvi Partizan 7 x 57 - 173-SP cartridges in 20-round boxes are a reliable choice for shooters seeking soft-point hunting ammunition. Keep firearm-specific specifications on hand, perform grouping tests, and apply proper storage practices to achieve consistent performance.

For precise ballistic data (velocity, energy at range, recommended barrel length), consult the firearm manufacturer's documentation or the cartridge's official technical sheets; this description does not include unconfirmed figures.
