Foster Micrometric Lock Ring (Accu-Ring)

DIE-G-20

The Accu-Ring is a precision lock ring designed specifically for use with resizing and seating dies in metallic and semi-metallic reloading operations. It features finely graduated markings with increments of 0.001 inches, enabling meticulous micrometric adjustments critical for achieving optimal cartridge dimensions and consistent ballistic performance.

When employed on the resizing die, the Accu-Ring facilitates ultra-fine calibration based on the exact case length of your brass casings. This precise adjustment ensures that each case is resized to exact specifications, minimizing case stretch and enhancing the longevity and reliability of your brass during repeated reload cycles.

In the bullet seating die, the Accu-Ring allows for precise micrometric positioning of the projectile within the case neck. This capability is essential for maintaining consistent overall cartridge length (OAL), optimizing bullet tension, and achieving superior accuracy and pressure control in your reloads.

Technical Note: The 0.001-inch increment corresponds to the distance between a long reference mark and a short reference mark on the Accu-Ring, as illustrated in Figure 1. This increment represents the vertical adjustment of the die within the Co-Ax® reloading press. The actual physical movement of the die per reference mark is 0.000998 inches, which for all practical purposes is effectively one thousandth of an inch (0.001"). This precision ensures repeatable and reliable die positioning, critical for high-precision handloading applications.
