Mold 476-400-RF (Caliber 480 Ruger 475 Linebaugh) Bullet Mold for Reloading and Precision Shooting

90241

LEE 2-Cavity Bullet Mold specifically engineered for .480 Ruger and .475 Linebaugh calibers, designed to deliver precision and consistency for metallic and semi-metallic reloading enthusiasts.

Featuring a .476-inch diameter, this mold casts 400-grain round flat nose (RF) projectiles optimized for the .480 Ruger and .475 Linebaugh cartridges, providing excellent ballistic performance and terminal effectiveness.

With a ballistic coefficient of .271, these bullets offer a balanced trajectory and energy retention, ideal for medium to large game hunting and precision target shooting applications.

LEE’s 2-cavity molds are manufactured from high-grade aluminum blocks, offering superior corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity compared to traditional iron or steel molds. This ensures faster heat transfer during casting cycles, reducing cooldown and warmup times for enhanced productivity.

The lightweight aluminum construction—approximately one-third lighter than iron or steel molds—reduces operator fatigue during extended casting sessions, making it an ergonomic choice for serious handloaders and ballistic technicians.

The mold halves are securely clamped together using robust wooden-handled tongs, eliminating any unwanted movement or misalignment during the molten lead pouring process. This precision fit guarantees uniform bullet dimensions and consistent weight distribution.

Note that the indicated bullet weights may vary slightly depending on the specific lead alloy composition used, including traditional lead-tin blends or semi-metallic alloys incorporating antimony or other additives.

The included wooden grips on the tongs provide excellent thermal insulation and ergonomic handling, ensuring safe and comfortable operation throughout the casting procedure.

An integrated pour spout (bevel) facilitates smooth lead flow into the mold cavities and allows for easy release of the finished projectiles without damaging the bullet surfaces.

For optimal mold longevity and bullet quality, it is highly recommended to thoroughly degrease the mold before initial use. Additionally, seasoning the mold by applying a recommended mold release agent or “smoking” it with a candle or beeswax helps prevent lead adhesion and improves bullet release.

Never lubricate the interior cavity of the mold, as this can cause defects in bullet formation and increase the risk of lead buildup.

Lightly lubricate the screw securing the pour spout to maintain smooth operation and prevent corrosion over time.
