LEE 2-Cavity Bullet Mold for .500 S&W Magnum Caliber

Precision-engineered .501 diameter, 440-grain round flat nose (RF) bullet mold specifically designed for the powerful .500 S&W Magnum cartridge.

Optimized for use with Gas-Check bullets to enhance sealing and reduce barrel leading during high-pressure revolver shooting.

Ballistic Coefficient: .296, providing excellent aerodynamic stability and consistent downrange performance for large-caliber handloads.

LEE’s 2-cavity bullet molds represent an exceptional balance of quality and affordability, ideal for metallic reloaders seeking reliable, repeatable bullet casting solutions.

Constructed from high-grade aluminum blocks, these molds offer superior corrosion resistance compared to traditional iron or steel molds, ensuring longevity and minimal maintenance.

Aluminum molds exhibit faster thermal cycling, cooling and heating more rapidly than iron counterparts, which translates into increased casting efficiency and reduced wait times between pours.

Additionally, the lightweight aluminum construction—approximately one-third lighter than iron or steel molds—reduces operator fatigue during extended casting sessions, enhancing user comfort and control.

The two mold halves are securely clamped together using robust wooden-handled sprue tongs, eliminating any movement or misalignment during the molten lead pour and solidification process, thus ensuring uniform bullet dimensions and weight consistency.

Note: Bullet weights may vary slightly depending on the specific lead alloy composition and casting temperature employed.

Included sprue tongs feature ergonomic wooden grips for safe and precise handling of the mold under high-temperature conditions.

The mold incorporates a practical sprue cutter blade integrated into the design, facilitating clean separation of the bullet from the sprue, minimizing post-cast cleanup and improving overall production speed.

For optimal performance, it is highly recommended to thoroughly degrease the mold prior to initial use and periodically thereafter. Applying a light coating of mold release agent or seasoning the mold with smoke treatment helps prevent lead adhesion and extends mold life.

Never lubricate the interior cavity of the mold, as this can adversely affect bullet surface finish and dimensional accuracy.

Lightly lubricate the sprue cutter retaining screw to maintain smooth operation and prevent seizing over time.
