Mold C309-150-F (.30 Caliber) for Bullet Casting and Reloading

Lee Two-Cavity Bullet Mold for .30 Caliber

Designed with a precise diameter of .309 inches, this mold produces high-quality bullets weighing approximately 150 grains. It features a gas-check groove (R style) compatible with Gas-Check calibers such as .308 Winchester, .30-06 Springfield, and other similar cartridges, making it ideal for metallic and semi-metallic reloading applications.

With a ballistic coefficient of approximately .264, these bullets offer excellent aerodynamic stability and performance for medium to long-range shooting scenarios.

Lee’s two-cavity bullet molds represent an excellent balance between cost-efficiency and precision for reloaders seeking reliable, consistent bullet casting solutions without compromising quality.

Constructed from corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy, these molds provide superior durability and longevity under rigorous casting conditions. Aluminum’s thermal conductivity allows the mold to absorb and dissipate heat faster than traditional iron or steel molds, resulting in quicker cooling cycles and increased casting throughput.

The lightweight design—approximately one-third the weight of comparable iron or steel molds—reduces operator fatigue during extended casting sessions, enhancing overall efficiency and comfort for the bullet caster.

Each mold is securely clamped with robust wooden-handled tongs, ensuring tight closure and precise bullet cavity alignment to maintain dimensional accuracy and uniformity across multiple castings.

Note that bullet weights may vary slightly depending on the specific lead or lead alloy used, as well as casting temperature and technique, so fine-tuning may be necessary to achieve optimal ballistic performance.

Equipped with a practical sprue cutter blade integrated into the mold design, it facilitates clean separation of the molten lead sprue, allowing for easy release of finished projectiles without damaging the bullet surface.

The package includes high-quality wooden-handled tongs for safe and ergonomic handling during the casting process.

For best results, it is highly recommended to thoroughly degrease the mold before initial use to remove any manufacturing residues. Additionally, seasoning the mold by applying a light coating of mold release agent or “smoking” it with a candle or torch flame will enhance bullet release and extend mold life.
