Starline Brass Cases for .38 S.A. Caliber – Bulk Pack of 100 Units

Starline Precision Ammunition Components is dedicated to maintaining the tightest manufacturing tolerances possible on every metallic cartridge case produced. Each brass case is engineered with meticulous attention to dimensional accuracy, ensuring optimal chamber fit and consistent ballistic performance for competitive shooting, hunting, and metallic reloading applications.

All .38 S.A. caliber brass casings are manufactured strictly within SAAMI (Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute) specifications, guaranteeing compatibility and safety across a wide range of firearms chambered for this caliber. The cases undergo a specialized heat treatment process designed to enhance tensile strength, improve case longevity, and resist deformation during repeated firing and resizing cycles.

These are premium new, unfired brass casings, delivered without primer pockets pre-primed, allowing reloaders full control over primer selection and seating. Prior to loading, it is essential to trim the cases to the correct length and chamfer the case mouth to facilitate smooth bullet seating and prevent jacket damage during assembly.

Due to manufacturing variances and transit handling, case mouths may not always maintain a perfectly round profile out of the box. To ensure precise bullet alignment and reliable crimping, it is recommended to run the case mouth through an expander die. This step will re-round the mouth and slightly flare it, allowing for easier bullet insertion and consistent neck tension. Additionally, any burrs or sharp edges should be carefully removed before the reloading process to avoid bullet deformation or feeding issues.

Reloaders may observe discoloration or spotting on the neck and body of the new brass cases. This is a normal byproduct of the annealing process—a controlled thermal cycle involving rapid heating to a specific temperature followed by swift cooling. Annealing is critical in restoring the brass’s ductility, enabling the case neck to expand and contract reliably during firing and resizing without cracking or splitting.

The visible stains are harmless residues from annealing and do not affect the structural integrity or performance of the brass cases. These Starline .38 S.A. brass casings offer reloaders a high-quality, durable foundation for precision handloading, ensuring consistent chambering, reliable ignition, and optimal ballistic results in semi-metallic and metallic cartridge applications.
