Starline Brass Cases Caliber .400 Cor-Bon, Bulk Pack of 100 Units

Starline Precision Ammunition Components is dedicated to maintaining the tightest possible manufacturing tolerances on every metallic cartridge case they produce. Each brass case is engineered with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for handloaders and competitive shooters alike.

All cases are manufactured strictly within SAAMI (Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute) specifications, incorporating advanced heat treatment processes and proprietary metallurgical designs that enhance both tensile strength and durability. This specialized thermal treatment improves case longevity, allowing for multiple reload cycles without compromising structural integrity.

These are new, unfired, and unprimed brass cases, crafted from high-quality virgin brass to provide consistent neck tension and primer pocket dimensions. Prior to loading, it is essential to trim and chamfer the case mouths to ensure smooth bullet seating and prevent jacket damage during the reloading process.

Due to manufacturing variances and transportation handling, case mouths may occasionally exhibit slight out-of-round conditions. To guarantee a perfectly concentric and round case mouth, it is recommended to run the cases through a neck-expanding die. This step not only rounds the neck but also slightly opens the case mouth, facilitating easy bullet insertion and consistent seating depth.

Additionally, deburring and removing any residual flash or burrs from the case mouth is critical before loading to avoid bullet deformation and ensure reliable chambering.

Users may notice discoloration or surface spotting on the neck and body of these new brass cases. This is a normal result of the annealing process performed by the manufacturer, which involves rapidly heating the brass to a precise temperature followed by quick cooling. Annealing softens the neck and shoulder areas, providing the necessary ductility to securely hold the projectile while allowing the case to expand and contract during firing and resizing cycles.

These characteristic annealing marks are harmless and serve as an indicator of proper case treatment, ensuring optimal performance and longevity in metallic and semi-metallic cartridge reloading applications.
