.44 Mag Brass Cases Starline Nickel Plated 100 Count
Starline Nickel-Plated .44 Magnum Brass Cases 100 Units
Starline Precision Ammunition Components is committed to maintaining the tightest production tolerances achievable for every metallic cartridge case they manufacture. Each .44 Magnum case is engineered with exacting standards to ensure optimal performance and reliability in high-pressure handgun applications.
All brass cases are produced strictly within SAAMI (Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute) specifications, incorporating specialized heat treatment processes and advanced metallurgical designs to enhance case strength, durability, and longevity under repeated firing and reloading cycles.
These cases are made from new, virgin brass with a high-quality nickel plating that provides superior corrosion resistance and smooth feeding characteristics in semi-automatic and revolver platforms. Note that these are unprimed, requiring the user to install primers prior to loading.
Before reloading, it is essential to trim and chamfer the case mouth to ensure proper bullet seating and consistent internal ballistics. Due to manufacturing and shipping stresses, case mouths may not be perfectly concentric or round upon receipt.
To guarantee a perfectly round and uniform case mouth, it is recommended to size the cases through an expander die. This sizing operation will also remove any burrs or rough edges, facilitating smooth bullet seating and preventing bullet deformation during the loading process.
Users may observe discoloration or spotting on the neck and body of new cases. This is a normal byproduct of the annealing process performed by the manufacturer, which involves rapidly heating the brass to a precise temperature followed by rapid cooling.
The annealing process optimizes the hardness and ductility of the case neck, allowing it to securely hold the projectile while providing the necessary flexibility to expand and contract during firing and subsequent resizing. The visible stains are harmless residues from this thermal treatment and do not affect case performance or safety.
