Starline Brass Cases for .44 Special Caliber – Bulk Pack of 100 Units

Starline Precision Ammunition Components is dedicated to maintaining the tightest manufacturing tolerances possible on every metallic cartridge case they produce. Each brass casing is engineered with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring optimal dimensional consistency critical for reliable chambering, extraction, and ballistic performance in both revolvers and single-shot firearms chambered in .44 Special.

All Starline .44 Special brass cases are manufactured strictly within SAAMI (Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute) specifications, guaranteeing compatibility and safety with a wide range of factory and handloaded ammunition. The cases undergo specialized heat treatment processes designed to enhance tensile strength and improve case longevity, allowing for multiple reload cycles without compromising structural integrity.

These are new, unfired, and unprimed brass casings, providing reloaders with a clean, high-quality foundation for precision handloading. Prior to loading, it is recommended to trim and chamfer the case mouths to ensure uniform bullet seating and prevent jacket damage during seating, thereby optimizing accuracy and terminal performance.

Due to manufacturing variances and transit handling, the case mouths may occasionally exhibit slight deviations from perfect roundness. To ensure proper bullet alignment and ease of seating, it is advisable to run the cases through an expander die. This process not only rounds the case mouth but also slightly opens the neck to facilitate smooth projectile insertion. Additionally, any burrs or rough edges should be carefully removed to prevent bullet deformation and ensure consistent chamber pressures.

Reloaders may observe discoloration or spotting on the neck and body of these new brass cases. This is a normal result of the annealing process applied by the manufacturer, which involves rapidly heating the brass to a precise temperature followed by rapid cooling. Annealing softens the neck and shoulder areas, providing the necessary ductility to securely hold the bullet while allowing controlled expansion and contraction during firing cycles. This thermal treatment significantly extends case life by reducing the risk of neck cracking and case head separation.

The visible stains are harmless residues from the annealing process and do not affect the performance or safety of the brass. Proper cleaning and preparation before loading will ensure optimal results for precision handloaders and competitive shooters seeking reliable, high-quality .44 Special brass cases.
