Starline .45 Auto Rim Brass Cases – Bulk Pack of 100 Units

Starline Precision Ammunition Components is dedicated to maintaining the tightest manufacturing tolerances possible on every metallic case they produce. Each brass case is engineered with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring consistent dimensions that meet or exceed SAAMI (Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute) specifications for optimal chamber fit and reliable cycling in semi-automatic firearms chambered in .45 Auto Rim.

All Starline brass cases undergo a specialized heat treatment process designed to enhance case strength and durability. This thermal annealing procedure optimizes the metallurgical properties of the brass, providing the ideal balance between hardness and malleability. The result is a case that offers superior longevity and reliable performance through multiple reload cycles, resisting cracking and deformation under the stresses of firing and resizing.

These cases are manufactured from new, unfired, primerless brass, ensuring a clean and uncontaminated foundation for handloaders seeking premium quality components. Prior to loading, it is recommended to trim the cases to proper length and chamfer and deburr the case mouths to facilitate smooth bullet seating and prevent projectile damage.

Due to manufacturing tolerances and transportation handling, case mouths may occasionally exhibit slight ovality or deformation. To guarantee a perfectly round case mouth, it is advisable to run the cases through an expander die. This resizing step will uniformly open and round the case neck, ensuring consistent bullet tension and reliable chambering.

Reloaders should also inspect and remove any residual flash burrs or rough edges from the case mouth after trimming and resizing to prevent bullet damage and ensure optimal seating depth.

It is common to observe discoloration or spotting on the neck and body of new brass cases. This is a normal byproduct of the annealing process, where the brass is rapidly heated to a precise temperature and then quickly cooled. This controlled thermal cycle imparts the necessary hardness and flexibility to the case, allowing it to expand and contract during firing and resizing without compromising structural integrity.

These annealing marks do not affect the performance or safety of the brass and are simply cosmetic residues from the heat treatment process performed by the manufacturer.
