TL430-240-SWC Bullet Mold for Precision Reloading and Hunting

90299

LEE TL 2-Cavity Bullet Mold specifically engineered for .44 Magnum, .44 Special, and .44/40 calibers, designed to deliver precision and consistency in bullet casting for metallic and semi-metallic reloading applications.

This mold produces .430 diameter, 240-grain Semi-Wadcutter (SWC) bullets optimized for high-performance shooting with .44 Magnum, .44 Special, and .44/40 cartridges, ensuring reliable accuracy and terminal ballistics.

Featuring a ballistic coefficient of approximately 0.169, these bullets provide a balanced trajectory and energy retention suitable for both target shooting and hunting scenarios.

The mold incorporates micro-groove rifling on the bullet surface to enhance lubrication retention during firing, reducing barrel leading and improving overall ballistic performance.

LEE’s 2-cavity bullet molds are highly regarded among precision reloaders seeking durable, cost-effective solutions without compromising on casting quality or repeatability.

Constructed from corrosion-resistant aluminum blocks, these molds offer superior thermal conductivity compared to traditional iron or steel molds, allowing for faster heat-up and cooldown cycles during bullet production.

The lightweight aluminum design reduces operator fatigue during extended casting sessions, weighing approximately one-third less than comparable iron or steel molds, enhancing handling ergonomics.

Each mold half is securely clamped with wooden-handled tongs to prevent any movement during the casting process, ensuring uniform cavity alignment and consistent bullet dimensions.

Note that bullet weights may vary slightly depending on the specific lead alloy composition used, affecting final projectile mass and performance.

The included tongs feature ergonomic wooden grips for safe and comfortable handling of the mold when hot.

An integrated sprue cutter blade is incorporated into the mold design, facilitating clean separation of the cast bullet from the molten lead sprue, streamlining the bullet finishing process.

For optimal mold longevity and bullet quality, it is highly recommended to thoroughly degrease the mold prior to initial use and periodically apply a suitable mold seasoning agent or smoke treatment to enhance release properties.

Under no circumstances should the interior cavity surfaces be lubricated with grease or oil, as this can degrade bullet surface finish and mold integrity.

Light lubrication of the sprue cutter retaining screw is advised to maintain smooth operation and prevent seizing during repeated use.
