Starline Brass Cases for .45 Long Colt – Bulk Pack of 100 Units

Starline Precision Ammunition Components is dedicated to maintaining the tightest manufacturing tolerances possible on every metallic cartridge case they produce. Each .45 Long Colt brass case is engineered with exacting attention to detail, ensuring consistent dimensions and optimal performance for handloaders and competitive shooters alike.

All Starline brass casings are manufactured strictly within SAAMI (Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute) specifications, guaranteeing compatibility and safety with all standard firearms chambered for this caliber. These cases undergo specialized heat treatment processes designed to enhance metallurgical strength and durability, extending the service life of each case through multiple reload cycles.

Constructed from premium new, virgin brass with no primer pockets pre-primed, these cases provide a clean and reliable foundation for precision reloading. Prior to loading, it is essential to trim and chamfer the case mouth to ensure proper bullet seating and consistent pressure build-up during firing.

Due to the nature of manufacturing and transportation, the case mouths may occasionally exhibit slight deviations from perfect roundness. To achieve optimal bullet alignment and seating, it is recommended to size the case mouth using an expander die. This step will re-round and slightly flare the case mouth, facilitating smooth bullet insertion and preventing deformation during seating. Additionally, deburring and removing any residual flash or burrs from the case mouth is critical to prevent bullet damage and ensure reliable chambering.

New brass cases may display discoloration or spotting on the neck and body surfaces. This is a normal result of the annealing process—a controlled heat treatment performed by the manufacturer involving rapid heating to a specific temperature followed by swift cooling. Annealing imparts the ideal balance of hardness and malleability to the brass, allowing the case neck to securely hold the bullet while providing the necessary flexibility to expand and contract during firing and resizing operations.

These annealing marks are purely cosmetic and do not affect the structural integrity or performance of the cartridge cases. Handloaders can expect consistent, high-quality brass that meets the rigorous demands of precision shooting, metallic cartridge reloading, and semi-metallic case applications.
