Description
The Continental x6 2-12x50 G4 Hunting (SCOM-15) is a Vector Optics riflescope designed for hunting, especially small-game and mountain hunting. It provides a variable magnification range and features aimed at field use.
Optically it offers 212x magnification and a 50 mm objective. The manufacturer states light transmission greater than 90% and lenses with full multi-coating (diamond clear) including LaREE and VePRO FMC technologies. The main tube is 30 mm and the eye relief is constant at 100 mm (4.0 in). Field of view ranges from 63 to 10.5 ft at 100 yd (213.5 m at 100 m). The scope uses an etched VET-10 BDC reticle (SFP) with center illumination in six levels; adjustments click at 1/4 MOA and elevation/windage range is 140 MOA each.
Regarding compatibility and recoil capacity, the product pages state it is intended for hunting and the VET-10 BDC reticle is documented to follow a .223 trajectory. Vector Optics FAQ notes in general that most of their scopes can withstand heavy shock loads up to .308win, .30-06 and .300 Win Mag on other models, and the Continental line is recommended for high-recoil applications.
The body material is 6061-T6 aluminum; the manufacturer lists 750 G shock resistance and water protection (sites show IP67 or IPX6). Dimensions and weight are given as 333335 mm length (site-dependent) and 605 g.
Box contents include a pair of Picatinny rings for 30 mm tube, lens caps and a cleaning cloth according to the official listing. Illumination is powered by a CR2032 battery, which is not included. Parallax is fixed at 100 yd and the eyepiece diopter range is -3 to +2.
Important notes: official documentation shows small discrepancies (length 333 vs 335 mm; IP67 vs IPX6). The VET-10 BDC reticle is calibrated on .223 ballistics so BDC holdovers will differ with other cartridges. The CR2032 battery must be purchased separately and verify included rings fit your rifle and mount.
