Description
The Tauron (formerly 'Taurus') 4-24x50 GenII (SKU SCFF-65) from Vector Optics is a first focal plane (FFP) riflescope designed for long-range shooting and varmint hunting. The MPX1 reticle is etched on glass in FFP to allow ballistic holdover and range calibration at any magnification.
It features a 424x zoom and a 50 mm objective. The reticle centre has a 0.1 MIL dot and BDC marks with 0.5 MIL hashes; BDC indications for .223 and .308 are included. The tube is a 30 mm monotube with all FMC optical coatings. The housing material is listed as 6061-T6 aluminium and the scope is nitrogen filled to prevent fogging, with a matte black finish.
Turrets click in 1/10 MIL (0.1 MRAD); elevation travel is at least 21 MIL and windage at least 16 MIL. A zero stop and turret lock are provided. Side focus/parallax adjustment ranges from 20 yards (~18.2 m) to infinity; minimum focus is 15 yards. The reticle is illuminated in 6 red levels and uses a CR2032 battery. The product is rated IP67 and shock resistance is listed in the specification table as 1000 G (another document mentions 750 G).
