Mold TL358-158-SWC for Precision Cast Bullets

90321

LEE TL 2-Cavity Mold specifically engineered for precision casting of .38 Special, .357 Magnum, and .38 Colt New Police caliber bullets.

Featuring a .358 inch diameter with a 158-grain Semi-Wadcutter (SWC) profile, this mold is optimized for producing high-quality projectiles suitable for both target shooting and self-defense applications within the .38 Special and .357 Magnum cartridge families.

Ballistic Coefficient (BC) of .117 ensures stable flight characteristics and consistent downrange performance, making it ideal for reloaders focused on accuracy and terminal effectiveness.

LEE’s 2-cavity molds represent an excellent balance between cost-efficiency and manufacturing precision, catering to handloaders who demand reliable bullet casting without compromising on quality.

Constructed from corrosion-resistant aluminum blocks, these molds offer superior thermal conductivity compared to traditional iron or steel molds, allowing for faster heat-up and cool-down cycles during the casting process.

The lightweight aluminum construction reduces operator fatigue significantly during extended casting sessions, as the mold weighs approximately one-third less than comparable iron or steel molds, enhancing handling comfort and control.

The two halves of the mold are securely clamped with wooden-handled tongs, ensuring zero movement or misalignment when closed, which is critical for producing uniform, dimensionally consistent bullets.

Bullet weights may vary slightly depending on the specific lead alloy or semi-metallic alloy used, allowing reloaders to tailor projectile mass to their specific ballistic requirements.

Included with the mold are high-quality tongs featuring ergonomic wooden grips for safe and comfortable operation during molten lead handling.

The mold incorporates a practical built-in sprue plate that functions as a pour gate, facilitating clean release of finished bullets and minimizing excess lead waste.

For optimal mold longevity and casting performance, it is highly recommended to thoroughly degrease the mold prior to initial use. Additionally, seasoning the mold by smoking or applying a specialized mold release agent will improve bullet release and reduce surface imperfections.

Never lubricate the interior cavity of the mold, as this can degrade bullet quality and cause casting defects.

Lightly lubricate the sprue plate retention screw to ensure smooth operation and prevent seizing during repetitive casting cycles.
