Mold TL356-124-TC for Precision Reloading and Hunting Ammunition

90238

LEE TL 2-Cavity Mold specifically engineered for 9mm caliber bullet casting and reloading applications.

Precision .356 diameter, 124-grain truncated cone (TC) projectile mold compatible with 9mm Luger, .38 Super, and .380 ACP cartridges, optimized for consistent ballistic performance.

Featuring a ballistic coefficient of .127, this mold produces aerodynamic bullets designed for enhanced stability and accuracy in semi-automatic pistols and carbines.

Incorporates a finely machined micro-groove lubrication groove around the bullet’s circumference, facilitating superior lubricant retention to reduce barrel leading and improve shot-to-shot consistency.

LEE’s 2-cavity molds represent an excellent balance of quality and affordability for precision handloaders and bullet casters who demand reliable, repeatable bullet dimensions and weight uniformity.

Constructed from high-grade aluminum alloy blocks, these molds offer excellent corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity, ensuring rapid heat transfer during the casting process for efficient cycle times.

Compared to traditional iron or steel molds, aluminum molds heat and cool significantly faster, allowing for quicker casting cycles and improved workflow efficiency in bullet production.

The aluminum construction also reduces overall mold weight by approximately one-third relative to iron or steel counterparts, minimizing operator fatigue during extended casting sessions.

The two mold halves are securely clamped together using durable wooden-handled sprue plate pliers, eliminating any potential mold movement during lead pouring and solidification to maintain bullet dimensional integrity.

Note that final bullet weights may vary slightly depending on the specific lead or lead alloy composition utilized during casting.

Included with the mold are high-quality sprue plate pliers featuring ergonomic wooden grips for comfortable handling and precise mold closure.

The integrated sprue cutter blade efficiently severs excess molten lead from the bullet base, facilitating clean release of finished projectiles and reducing post-cast cleanup time.

For optimal mold longevity and bullet quality, it is strongly recommended to thoroughly degrease the mold prior to initial use and periodically apply recommended mold seasoning agents or smoke treatments to enhance surface finish and reduce lead adhesion.

Never apply lubricant or grease to the interior cavity surfaces of the mold, as this can negatively impact bullet surface quality and mold performance.

Lightly lubricate the sprue cutter retaining screw to ensure smooth operation and prevent seizing during repeated casting cycles.
