Mold TL314-90-SWC for Reloading Semi-Wadcutter Bullets

90311

LEE TL 2-Cavity Mold specifically engineered for .32 caliber bullet casting applications.

Featuring a precise .311 inch diameter, this mold produces 93-grain Semi-Wadcutter (SWC) projectiles optimized for cartridges such as .32-20 Winchester Center Fire (WCF), .32 S&W Long, and .32 Colt.

Designed with a ballistic coefficient of approximately 0.100, these bullets offer reliable external ballistics performance suitable for target shooting, hunting, and self-defense purposes.

Each cavity incorporates a finely machined micro-groove rifling to enhance bullet lubrication retention, reducing barrel leading and improving overall accuracy during firing.

The Lee 2-cavity molds represent an excellent balance of quality and affordability for precision handloaders and bullet casters seeking consistent bullet dimensions and weight.

Constructed from high-grade aluminum blocks, these molds provide superior corrosion resistance compared to traditional iron or steel molds, ensuring long-term durability in various environmental conditions.

Aluminum molds exhibit faster thermal cycling characteristics, cooling and heating more rapidly than iron molds, which increases casting efficiency and reduces downtime between pours.

Additionally, the aluminum block design reduces overall mold weight by approximately one-third compared to iron or steel counterparts, minimizing operator fatigue during extended casting sessions.

The two mold halves are securely clamped together using wooden-handled tongs, preventing any unwanted movement or misalignment during the molten metal pour and solidification process, resulting in uniform bullet profiles.

Note that bullet weights may vary slightly depending on the specific lead alloy composition and casting temperature employed.

Included with the mold are durable tongs featuring ergonomic wooden grips for safe and comfortable handling of the hot mold.

An integrated sprue cutter blade facilitates clean separation of the cast bullet from the sprue, streamlining post-casting cleanup and maintaining bullet integrity.

For optimal mold performance, it is highly recommended to thoroughly degrease the mold prior to initial use and to season the cavities by smoking or applying a specialized mold release agent designed for bullet casting.

Under no circumstances should the interior of the mold be lubricated with oil or grease, as this can cause defects in the bullet surface and potential safety hazards during casting.

Light lubrication of the sprue cutter screw is advised to ensure smooth operation and prolong component lifespan.
