Mold 358-105-SWC for Casting and Reloading Bullets

90316

LEE 2-Cavity Mold specifically engineered for .38 caliber bullet casting applications.

Precision .358-inch diameter, 105-grain Semi-Wadcutter (SWC) bullet mold designed for reloading .38 Special, .357 Magnum, and 38 Colt New Police cartridges with optimal ballistic performance.

Featuring a ballistic coefficient (BC) of .106, this mold produces projectiles with consistent aerodynamic efficiency, ideal for both target shooting and defensive purposes.

LEE’s 2-cavity molds represent an excellent balance of quality and affordability for metallic reloaders seeking reliable bullet casting solutions without compromising on performance or durability.

Constructed from high-grade aluminum alloy blocks, these molds offer superior corrosion resistance compared to traditional iron or steel molds, ensuring long-term usability in various environmental conditions.

Aluminum molds benefit from faster thermal cycling, cooling and heating more rapidly than iron counterparts, which enhances casting efficiency and reduces cycle times during high-volume bullet production.

Additionally, aluminum blocks weigh approximately one-third less than iron or steel molds, significantly reducing operator fatigue during extended casting sessions and improving overall handling ergonomics.

The two mold halves are securely clamped together using durable wooden-handled tongs, eliminating any unwanted movement or misalignment during the molten lead pouring process, thereby guaranteeing uniform bullet dimensions and weight consistency.

Note that bullet weights may vary slightly depending on the specific lead alloy composition utilized, including variations in hardness and antimony content.

The included tongs feature ergonomic wooden grips for comfortable and safe handling, allowing precise control when opening and closing the mold during casting operations.

An integrated sprue cutter blade functions as a lead feeder, facilitating clean separation of the finished bullets from the mold and minimizing post-casting cleanup.

Prior to initial use, it is highly recommended to thoroughly degrease the mold to remove any manufacturing residues. Additionally, seasoning the mold by smoking it or applying a specialized mold release agent enhances bullet release and prolongs mold life.

Under no circumstances should the interior cavity of the mold be lubricated with oils or greases, as this can cause defects in the bullet surface and potential safety hazards during casting.

Light lubrication of the sprue cutter screw is advised to maintain smooth operation and prevent corrosion.
