LEE Two-Cavity Bullet Mold for .451 Caliber Round Balls

Designed specifically for use with muzzleloading firearms as well as for reloading metallic cartridges intended for hunting applications, this precision-engineered bullet mold offers exceptional performance and reliability.

Constructed to support high-volume production of cast projectiles, this mold facilitates efficient bullet casting sessions, optimizing your reloading workflow for both semi-metallic and metallic ammunition components.

The mold features a robust aluminum block reinforced with steel bushings and precision alignment pins, ensuring consistent cavity alignment and exceptional durability. The corrosion-resistant materials extend the lifespan of the mold, even under demanding field and workshop conditions.

Compared to traditional iron molds, the aluminum construction provides significantly faster thermal response times, allowing the mold to reach optimal casting temperatures more quickly and cool down rapidly between pours. This thermal efficiency reduces cycle times and increases overall casting throughput.

Additionally, the aluminum mold is approximately one-third lighter than equivalent iron molds, reducing operator fatigue during extended casting sessions and enhancing handling ergonomics.

The two aluminum blocks are securely clamped together using specialized tongs, eliminating any lateral or vertical movement during the pouring of molten lead or lead alloys. This tight seal ensures precise bullet dimensions and minimizes flash or mold leakage.

Equipped with an anodized, extra-hard sprue plate and cutter, the mold delivers clean, complete cuts of cast projectiles, improving bullet quality and reducing post-casting finishing time. The sprue plate mechanism is engineered for smooth operation and long-term wear resistance.

Note that the projectile weights produced by this mold may vary depending on the specific alloy composition and casting parameters employed.

The necessary tongs for opening and closing the mold are included, providing a secure grip and safe handling during casting operations.

For optimal mold performance and longevity, it is highly recommended to thoroughly degrease the mold prior to initial use. Additionally, seasoning the mold by smoking or applying manufacturer-recommended mold lubricants will enhance release properties and reduce bullet sticking.

Under no circumstances should the interior cavities of the mold be lubricated, as this can adversely affect bullet surface finish and dimensional accuracy.

Light lubrication of the sprue plate retaining screw is advised to maintain smooth operation and prevent seizing.
