LEE Mold with 2-Cavity Spherical Design for .500 Caliber

Specifically engineered for use with muzzleloading firearms or for precision loading of hunting cartridges, this high-performance mold is ideal for producing consistent, high-quality cast projectiles.

Optimized for high-volume production of cast bullets, the mold ensures rapid cycle times and reliable output, making it a preferred choice among competitive shooters and metallic reloaders alike.

Constructed from a robust aluminum block fitted with corrosion-resistant steel bushings, this mold features precision alignment pins that guarantee perfect cavity registration during each casting cycle, minimizing flash and ensuring dimensional accuracy.

The aluminum construction offers superior thermal conductivity compared to traditional iron molds, allowing for faster heating and cooling cycles. This thermal efficiency enables the caster to reach and maintain optimal casting temperatures more quickly, improving workflow and reducing downtime.

Additionally, the mold’s lightweight design—approximately one-third lighter than comparable iron molds—significantly reduces operator fatigue during extended casting sessions, enhancing comfort and productivity in the reloading process.

The dual aluminum blocks are securely clamped with included tongs, preventing any unwanted movement or misalignment while pouring molten lead or lead alloys, thereby ensuring consistent bullet quality and safety during operation.

Equipped with an anodized, extra-hard sprue plate and cutter, this mold provides a clean, precise cut of the cast projectiles. The sprue cutter’s durability ensures long-lasting performance and a flawless separation of bullets from the gating system, critical for achieving uniform weight and aerodynamic consistency.

Note that final bullet weights may vary depending on the specific lead alloy or semi-metallic composition used during casting, so adjustments in alloy formulation may be necessary to meet exact ballistic requirements.

The mold package includes a set of tongs designed specifically for opening and closing the mold halves safely and efficiently, facilitating quick mold changes and maintenance.

For optimal performance and longevity, it is highly recommended to thoroughly degrease the mold before initial use. Additionally, seasoning the mold by smoking or applying a manufacturer-recommended mold release agent will enhance bullet release and surface finish.

Never lubricate the interior cavity surfaces of the mold, as this can adversely affect bullet quality and mold integrity.

Apply a light lubrication to the sprue plate retaining screw only, ensuring smooth operation of the sprue cutter without compromising mold alignment or casting precision.
