LEE Two-Cavity Bullet Mold for .445 Caliber Bullets

Designed specifically for use with black powder muzzleloading firearms as well as for casting projectiles intended for hunting cartridge reloading, this precision-engineered mold is an essential tool for serious handloaders and ballistic enthusiasts.

Manufactured to support high-volume production of cast lead and semi-metallic bullets, this mold ensures consistent bullet dimensions and weight, critical for maintaining accuracy and terminal performance in the field.

The mold features a robust aluminum block construction reinforced with steel bushings and precision alignment pins, providing exceptional durability and resistance to corrosion during repeated thermal cycling.

Aluminum molds offer superior thermal conductivity compared to traditional iron molds, allowing for faster heating and cooling cycles. This results in reduced downtime between pours and more efficient bullet casting sessions, optimizing workflow for reloaders focused on productivity.

Additionally, the lightweight aluminum design—approximately one-third the weight of comparable iron molds—significantly reduces operator fatigue during extended casting operations, enhancing comfort and control.

The two aluminum halves are securely clamped together using specialized tongs, eliminating any lateral movement during the molten lead pour and ensuring precise cavity alignment for uniform bullet formation.

Equipped with an anodized, extra-hard sprue plate that functions as a pour cup and cutter, this mold delivers clean, complete cuts on the sprue, minimizing post-cast cleanup and preserving bullet integrity.

Note that final bullet weights may vary depending on the specific lead alloy composition used, so users should verify weights with their chosen materials to maintain ballistic consistency.

The mold includes a dedicated pair of tongs designed for safe and efficient opening and closing of the mold halves during casting.

For optimal performance and longevity, it is highly recommended to thoroughly degrease the mold prior to initial use. Additionally, seasoning the mold by smoking or applying a manufacturer-recommended mold treatment product helps prevent lead adhesion and extends mold life.

Never lubricate the interior cavity surfaces of the mold, as this can adversely affect bullet quality and mold durability.

Lightly lubricate the sprue plate retaining screw to ensure smooth operation and prevent seizing during repeated use.
