Conotech Avata 650 thermal clip-on

What it is and what it does
The AVATA 650 is a thermal clip-on designed to mount in front of a day optic, converting it to thermal imaging without the need to re-zero. It is intended for observation and hunting applications where thermal detection is required while keeping the existing sighting setup.

Main characteristics
The unit uses an uncooled VOx detector with 640×512 pixel resolution and 12 µm pixels, a 50 Hz frame rate and NETD below 15 mK. The optical objective is 50 mm with a base magnification of 1× and a field of view at 100 m of 15.4 × 12.3 m. It offers digital zoom levels 1×/2×/4× and an internal OLED display (1024×768). Built-in 64 GB memory supports photo and video recording with audio. Power is supplied by two external 18500 batteries and a USB-C 5 V input; operating time is approximately 7 hours at 22 °C.

Physical and durability data
Weight is approximately 460 g without external batteries; dimensions are 67 × 70 × 147 mm. The unit has IP67 protection, an operating temperature range from -20 °C to +50 °C and a shock resistance rating of 7000 J. It supports Wi-Fi video streaming, firmware updates via an app, multiple color palettes and recoil-activated recording. Manufacturer data indicates a precision of 0.67 MOA.

Compatibility
Quick clip/magnet mounting allows fitting in front of day optics without re-zeroing. Commercial materials list recoil-rated compatibility up to the following calibres: .223 Rem, .234 Win, .270 Win, .308 Win, .30-06 SPRG, 9.3×62 and .300 Win Mag. There is also an AVATA 650LIIR variant that includes an LIIR rangefinder.
