Description
What it is and what it does
The AVATA 650LIIR is a thermal clip-on designed to provide thermal imaging capability to a daytime riflescope. It mounts in front of the day scope using a quick magnetic attachment and is intended for operation without re-zeroing, offering a base magnification of 1× for target acquisition and tracking.
Key characteristics
It integrates an uncooled VOx detector with 640 × 512 pixel resolution and a 12 µm pixel pitch, with a listed NETD of <15 mK. The 50 mm objective yields a field of view at 100 m of 15.4 × 12.3 m (approx. 8.8° × 7°). Optical accuracy is specified as 0.67 MOA.
The unit includes an OLED display with 1024 × 768 px resolution, 64 GB internal memory and photo, video and audio recording capabilities. It features an integrated LIIR laser rangefinder with a measurement range from 5 to 1,200 m and ±1 m accuracy; laser safety class 1.
Power and dimensions
Power is supplied by an external 2×18500 battery pack (operation also possible with a single cell) and via an external 5 V USB-C input. Runtime is approximately 7 hours at 22 °C. Dimensions are 67 × 70 × 147 mm and weight is about 460 g without the external battery.
Ruggedness and compatibility
Device rating is IP67 and recoil tolerance is declared up to 7000 J, with specific calibers listed in the specification (e.g., .223 Rem, .308 Win, .300 Win Mag). It is designed as a clip-on to mount in front of daytime scopes and allows mounting without re-zeroing.
