Description
The Tauron GenII 5-40x56 ED from Vector Optics is a first focal plane (FFP) rifle scope intended for long-range shooting, PRS and precision sport shooting. It provides a wide magnification range for accurate holdovers and distance work.
Key optical and mechanical features include 540x magnification and a 56 mm objective, a 34 mm tube and ED glass with fully multi-coated optics which the supplier states provide 93% light transmission. The VTA-8 MIL reticle is etched on glass in the first focal plane; the center subtension is 0.03 mil and hashmarks are 0.25 mil. Turrets click at 0.1 MIL per click, incorporate a zero stop and locking mechanisms (top & side); elevation exceeds 25 MIL and windage exceeds 12 MIL. Side focus/parallax adjustment operates from 15 yards to infinity.
The scope has illuminated reticle with 6 brightness settings (on/off) powered by a CR2032 battery according to the manufacturer. The chassis is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with a matte black finish; eye relief is 100 mm and diopter compensation is -2 to +2. Field of view is 243 ft @100 yd (81 m @100 m), equivalent to 4.58°0.57°. Length is 365 mm and weight 978 g. Sealing and durability: IP67 rated, nitrogen-filled (anti-fog) and shockproof to 1000 G.
Compatibility: Vector Optics lists typical uses (PRS, long-range, mountain hunting, varmint, target shooting) but does not specify calibers or explicit recoil limits on the product page; consult the user manual or manufacturer support for recoil compatibility and mounting guidance.
Package contents per the official listing include the user manual, cleaning cloth, plastic wrench, rubber lens cover, sunshade, throw lever, hex keys, 34 mm Picatinny rings, etc. The official user manual is available for download from the manufacturer and should be reviewed for zero-stop setup, mounting instructions and safety notes.
