Mold 311-100-2R for Hunting, Shooting, and Reloading Ammunition

90301

LEE 2-Cavity Mold designed for .32 caliber bullet casting, ideal for precision handloaders and ballistic enthusiasts seeking consistent performance and reliability in their metallic and semi-metallic ammunition components.

This mold produces .311 diameter, 100-grain ogival bullets featuring two lubrication grooves (2-R), perfectly suited for cartridges such as .32/20 Winchester, .32 S&W Long, and other compatible calibers.

With a ballistic coefficient (BC) of .174, these projectiles offer a balanced combination of aerodynamic efficiency and terminal performance, optimized for medium-range shooting and target accuracy.

LEE’s 2-cavity molds are crafted from high-grade aluminum blocks, providing excellent thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance, which significantly enhances the casting process by allowing faster heating and cooling cycles compared to traditional iron or steel molds.

The lightweight aluminum construction reduces operator fatigue during extended casting sessions, as it weighs approximately one-third less than conventional iron or steel molds, facilitating easier handling and improved maneuverability.

The mold halves are securely clamped together using robust wooden-handled tongs, ensuring zero movement or misalignment during the molten lead pour, which guarantees uniform bullet dimensions and consistent weight distribution.

Note that the bullet weights produced may vary slightly depending on the specific lead alloy composition and casting temperature employed, allowing handloaders to fine-tune their loads for optimal ballistic performance.

Included with the mold are ergonomic wooden grips on the tongs, providing comfortable and safe handling during the casting process.

A practical built-in sprue cutter efficiently trims excess molten lead from the bullet base, facilitating clean separation of finished projectiles and reducing post-casting cleanup time.

For best results, it is highly recommended to thoroughly degrease the mold before initial use and to season the interior surfaces by smoking or applying manufacturer-recommended mold release agents, which help prevent lead adhesion and extend mold life.

Never lubricate the interior cavity of the mold, as this can adversely affect bullet surface quality and dimensional accuracy.

Lightly lubricate the sprue cutter pivot screw to maintain smooth operation and prevent corrosion over time.
