6 Cavity Mold TL356-124-TC (Tongs Not Included)
LEE Casting Mold featuring 6 cavities specifically engineered for high-precision bullet casting in calibers 9mm Luger, .38 Super, and .380 ACP. This mold is designed to produce consistent, high-quality lead projectiles optimized for semi-metallic and metallic reloading applications.
Each cavity forms bullets with a diameter of .356 inches, yielding a weight of approximately 124 grains with a traditional truncated cone (TC) profile. This bullet design is ideal for achieving reliable ballistic performance and terminal effectiveness in the specified calibers.
Compatible with 9mm Luger, .38 Super, and .380 ACP cartridges, this mold supports versatile use across popular handgun platforms, making it an essential tool for precision reloaders and competitive shooters alike.
The bullets cast with this mold exhibit a ballistic coefficient (BC) of .127, ensuring stable flight characteristics and improved accuracy at typical engagement distances.
Constructed for high-volume production, this mold facilitates efficient casting of lead projectiles, streamlining the reloading process for enthusiasts who demand both speed and consistency.
The mold body is crafted from high-grade aluminum alloy, incorporating steel bushings and precision alignment pins to guarantee perfect cavity alignment and durability. The corrosion-resistant materials extend the molds service life, even under rigorous casting conditions.
Aluminum molds like this one offer superior thermal conductivity compared to traditional iron molds, resulting in faster heat-up and cool-down cycles. This thermal efficiency reduces downtime between pours and helps maintain optimal casting temperatures for consistent bullet quality.
Additionally, the lightweight aluminum constructionapproximately one-third the weight of iron moldsminimizes operator fatigue during extended casting sessions, enhancing user comfort and productivity.
The two aluminum blocks are securely clamped together using bullet mold tongs (sold separately), preventing any movement during the pouring of molten lead. This stability is critical for producing defect-free bullets with precise dimensions.
Equipped with an anodized, extra-hard sprue plate that functions as a pour cup, sprue cutter, and trimming tool, this mold ensures clean, complete cuts of the cast bullets. The sprue plates durability maintains sharp cutting edges for consistent projectile finish and minimal post-casting cleanup.
Note that actual bullet weights may vary slightly depending on the specific lead alloy and casting parameters employed.
Bullet mold tongs required for opening and closing the mold are not included and must be purchased separately (Reference 90005).
For optimal performance and longevity, it is highly recommended to thoroughly degrease the mold prior to initial use. Additionally, seasoning the mold by applying a recommended mold release agent or smoking it with a candle flame helps prevent lead adhesion and facilitates easier bullet removal.
Never lubricate the interior cavities of the mold, as this can degrade bullet surface quality and cause casting defects.
Lightly lubricate the sprue plate retaining screw to ensure smooth operation and prevent seizing during repeated use.
